Roundtable on Climate, Trade, and Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems: Opportunities for International Cooperation that is Ambitious, Effective and Fair

Jointly with the Forum on Trade, Environment & the SDGs (TESS), the FACT Dialogue is co-organizing the Roundtable on Climate, Trade, and Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems: Opportunities for International Cooperation that is Ambitious, Effective and Fair.

This session at the Trade and Investment House Pavilion will explore pathways for greater international cooperation on trade and sustainable agriculture to support achieving the Paris Agreement’s climate goals, nature-positive agri-food supply chains, and sustainable development.

Agriculture contributes up to 34% of global greenhouse gas emissions, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable practices in food systems. This roundtable will address how trade policies can support sustainable agriculture, balancing environmental goals like reducing deforestation and emissions with food security and ecosystem protection. The session will explore trends, challenges, and opportunities for fostering international cooperation to align trade with climate goals and sustainable development.

On this occasion, the FACT Dialogue will launch the 2024 Progress Report.
